Oh my gosh, two posts in the same decade and no one is reading them.
House of M #1 & 2- Well, just finished the first two issues of House of M. Initial impressions are mixed. I love the alternate worlds comics: DC's elseworld line (I missed the annuals they did in the 90's) and Marvel's What If's and Age of Apocaplyse. I was not into the Hero Reborn stuff. The heros of the X-men and Avengers are call by Professor X to decide the faith of the Scarlet Witch. She was cause of the deaths of the old Avengers and her powers are out of control. Professor X is unable to control them. While the decision is being made the world changes in a blink of an eye... With issue 2, it is our issue of things to come. We get glimpse of the world of House of M without even seeing Magneto. This is probably one of the biggest problems of today's comics: writers drags the plot along. To worsen the problem, endings always seem rushed. Feel like writers are writing during the Industrial Revolution and getting paid by the page. The issue could be summarized in 8 pages of less or extra sized first issue like the good old days. (Now, I am sounding like an old fart.) Overall the series will be intriguing. I love the work Bendis is doing on the Daredevil and slowly with the New Avengers. Plus combine my fondness with alternate reality. This should be a good series. Only if I didn't have feeling I was getting fleesed for an extra comic. A world of mutants... a brave new world. RATING 8/10 ART 6/10
